Period cramps are a clockwise pain for women, and it is very difficult to bear and manage it all alone. This severe pain in the period is known as Dysmenorrhea. The pain is surrounded by the warm heating bags, chocolates and bags of chips that women usually carry to divert their minds from pain.

But there are better solutions than these bags of chips and chocolates for period cramps. You have to maintain a habit of some do’s and don’ts where you can ease the pain. If you are facing painful periods in Orlando, you can visit any of the medical centers like painful periods Orlando to get the exact solution to your problem.

    What is Dysmenorrhea?

It is a medical term which is used for painful periods or cramps. In Dysmenorrhea, the pain is also associated with fatigue, cramps, and diarrhea. Commonly, you can have periods of pain before one day you start your period. Gradually the pain subsides after two or three days.

Mild to moderate pain in women is normal, but when it goes to an extreme level, it is not normal. Extreme pain hinders women’s day-to-day activities; therefore, it is important to cure such extreme pain with medications and other treatments.

    Do’s and Don’ts of Dysmenorrhea

Eat healthy food: Eating healthy and anti-inflammatory food is very important when you have period cramps. You can have sugar cravings seven to eight days before periods. It is a phenomenon that occurs due to hormonal changes during this cycle, and therefore, you can have sugar cravings. Therefore, women tend to eat more chocolates and chips sometimes. But, it worsens the situation as it can cause bloating and cramps.

So, the best alternative for this sugar and carbohydrates is to eat brown rice or whole grains. You can avoid using complex carbs; instead, use protein like fish and chicken. You can also use dark chocolate, which will provide magnesium and help reduce the PMS symptoms.

Maintain Regular Exercise: During periods, various hormonal changes occur, which may also increase the stress level to amplify your abdominal cramps. You can do some aerobic exercises to maintain your health. If you are used to exercising, you can continue it but don’t start a new exercise schedule during your periods. Exercise will make you sweat, removing excess water from the body to reduce bloating.

Stay Hydrated: You can keep yourself hydrated and, therefore, drink water to help you in bloating. You can also take some juices like watermelon juice for high water content.

Heat Therapy: If the pain is increasing and there is a high level of cramps, you can take hot water bags. A hot water bag will help you get relief from the pain. But, you must consult for expert advice if the pain is severe.

Consult a Doctor: If you are having severe pain and, with all the precautions, the pain is not relieved; you should consult a doctor because it will help you get the best solution for the problem. As every person is different and their cases are also different, doctors can easily understand your case and recommend medication as per requirements.
