Lap band is a very common bariatric surgery in the United States. This is a great option for those with a BMI of 40 or more. Moreover, it is a helpful procedure for those who have a BMI of 35 or above and suffering weight-related problems such as sleep apnea and hypertension.

Exercise is an integral part of lap band surgery Roswell NM revival, lasting success, and learning how to reduce weight. A majority of patients can take part in exercises in 6 weeks following their surgery.

Tips for exercising after a laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding

    1.      Bariatric patients need to get up and move around every half an hour once they reach home from the medical centre to avoid blood clots from emerging. Even if you can lift light weights, you mustn’t lift over 20 pounds for 30 days following surgery.

    2.      Ample care should be taken while partaking in aerobic activities after the lap band procedure. Swimming, running, bicycling, and other aerobic exercises can make you feel thirsty, but since your tummy has been banded, you won’t be able to drink as much fluid as before. Thus, sip fluids rather than drinking them too fast. Also, too cool fluids can annoy your tummy, therefore, drink them at room temperature.

    3.      You can continue yoga and other stretching activities for the first 30 days following surgery. However, sit-ups and crunches must be avoided for the first 3 months after your surgery.

    4.      As you start your second month of revival after operation, most patients can start weight training activities. Start with light weights, and increase the weight after some time. For the first 3 months, be watchful to not stretch the stomach region extremely.

Prescribed exercises after lap band surgery

    1.      Walking

Walking is an easy lap exercise that can work and stimulate an unexpected amount of muscles and burn an unexpected amount of calories. Those who experienced lap-band surgery can often start walking around their houses in some days of operation. Relying on the person, walking for some minutes every few hours, is typically a great place to begin.

    2.      Light weight exercises

In the third month of recovery, people can partake in light weight exercises. Extremely light weights must be used in the beginning, with the size of the weights slowly increasing after a while. Lap-band recovery patients must keep in mind to avoid performing exercises that put pressure on the stomach region.
