    Now that summer is here, it is time to take a look at your health and see what you can do to ensure you stay fit and healthy.

    Perhaps you are looking to lose some weight, or maybe you want to get fitter after the long winter? Whatever the reason, here are some tips to help you stay healthy with a summer health check 101.

    Deal with any allergies

    One of the worst things about summer for some people is allergies. They can last the whole season and make you feel unwell. Thankfully, there are now many remedies on the market that can help you overcome your allergies.

    If you have already tried the traditional medication, then you could always try a Kenalog injection in Essex or wherever you are. These injections can give you the relief you need.

    You might also fancy trying some of the natural remedies that can have an effect on your symptoms, such as eating local honey.

    Keep hydrated

    With the warmer weather comes more sweating, especially with exercise. To ensure you stay healthy, it is important to drink at least eight glasses of water per day. This might sound like a lot, but you can easily lose that much on a hot day.

    Remember that drinks with caffeine in them don’t count as they pull more water from your body. Make a habit of taking a bottle of water with you wherever you go and refilling it whenever you can.

    Protect your skin

    While it is nice to lie down in the sun, it also comes with a warning that you should always ensure you use sunscreen. The minimum that you should use is sun protection factor 15. It is also advised that you put it on 20 minutes before you leave.

    Most sunscreen is now water-resistant; however, you still need to reapply it regularly to ensure the skin is fully protected.

    If you do get sunburnt, you must ensure you get the right treatment for it as soon as possible. You should also cover up for a while afterwards to allow time for your skin to heal.

    Eat fresh fruit and vegetables

    As well as looking after your body outside, you should look after it on the inside. It is important to eat the right fruit and vegetables every day to help keep you healthy and ensure you get the right vitamins and minerals.

    It is advised that you eat at least five portions of fruit and vegetables per day; this can be easily achieved by trying to add fruit or veg to each meal. While frozen vegetables are good, it is always best to get fresh if you can. You can often find local produce being sold that is sourced from surrounding farms.

    Conclusion

    Looking after your health is important all year round, but when the sun starts shining, it is the best time to get outside and become healthier. Just a few changes to your routine can make all the difference to your health.
