Have you ever felt stress? Are you worried and preoccupied daily? Or do you just want to improve the quality of your life and your decision-making? Stress is a catalisator of personal transformation, an anvil that weighs down your life. In this article I want to share with you 4 tips to reduce your stress in 2018
1- From the Problem to the Solution
Most people spend their time talking about the “problem”, complain about the “problem” and become obsessed with the “problem”. And this behavior stimulates the synaptic circuits of stress. So would not it be more judicious to talk about the “solution”, to focus on the “solution” and to become obsessed with the solution?
Because it appears as soon as we show thought, humility and openness. Indeed I noticed in my life that all the “problems” arrived at the right moment! That is, when I was able to solve them. And did you observe it too? For more info on this topic read the following article: Tired of problems? Let’s delete them!
2- Pay yourself first
The money is an important tool in our society. However over or under evaluated its importance causes long-term stress symptoms. For example if your month ends are difficult it is a safe bet that you feel the stress of your finances.
But this situation of misery can also derive from extreme and opposing conduct. Indeed, if you only live for the money, then you create an unbalanced life and the day when your finances rock your whole life will rock.
To give you a concrete example: I know someone who earns 1000 € a month. As he still lives with his parents, he had the idea to buy on credit a new car for a value of 40 000 €. But in his euphoria of purchase he had forgotten to take into account some parameters: Firstly just out of his car from the dealer he had already lost € 10,000, from the haircut of the vehicle. Secondly, he did not calculate all the expenses that a luxurious car owner has to assume: insurance, overhaul and fuel! An error that forced him to ask his employer, in a state of stress, a payday advance to pay the costs of the technical control.
So be careful! Do not give in to the sirens of immediate gratification! It is wise to wait in the long term and save at the beginning of the month 10% of your salary.
3- Choose carefully what you eat and drink
When you overload your body with food or when you eat industrial foods irritate your organic neuro system. And this irritation forces the body to mobilize energy for the digestion and assimilation of “toxic” foods.
As a result, there is less energy available for the other functions of your body. Thus your immune system works less well, you are quickly tired and irritable and you enter the mode of defense: I fight where I flee.
And that’s when physical and psychological symptoms can occur! Because this mode of defense which is normally temporary can become chronic for some people. Indeed, when we feel in danger our brain reacts and tries to protect itself causing a physiological stress response: cuts the digestion, increases the cardiac tension, tends the muscles and accelerates the breathing. The brain is not available to analyze the problem and imagine a solution.
For example to share with you my experience, I know that when I eat too much sugar (slow or fast) I feel muscle cramps and I am much more irritable. In other words, I feel more stressed than when I take care of what I eat.
4- Choose carefully your entourage
All information or beliefs that “fit” into your brain are accepted or denied. On average, the brain must be in contact with a belief 7 times for this belief to become familiar. If you are surrounded by people who have a “negative”, “defeatist” or limiting beliefs, you will gradually begin to think and act like them and become like them.
But my observation also works in the other direction: If you surround yourself with accomplished people in your life (spiritually, professionally, socially, colloquially, or physically) then you have a good chance of progressing in yours as well. While waiting to meet this kind of person and to make friends with her, you can read or watch conferences of people who inspire you.
5- Change your perception
“The greatest discovery of my generation is that the human being, by changing his mind and his inner attitude, can change every area of his life.”
You are master of the story that you tell others. So either you focus on the negative sides of this story, or on the positive side or finally you can take both into account. That is, seeing how this problem has allowed you to grow and learn an important lesson in life.
The most important thing is not what happens to you but it is the way you will transform this experience to improve your life and that of other human beings.
Each crisis brings its share of opportunities and each difficulty is accompanied by a lot of support. Learn to master your mind to see both. Do not be a victim of your past, become master of your destiny.
